About All Saints

Meet Msgr. Joseph K. Ntuwa!

While I want to get to know each parishioner on a personal basis, I will take this opportunity for you to get to know me. I was born and raised in Uganda, a small African country that straddles the equator and the source of the Nile River. I am the fourth child in a family of five boys and five girls, and grew up with 21 nieces and nephews. I responded to the call to the priesthood early in life. After my First Holy Communion, I learned how to be an altar server and was impressed seeing other children and adults assisting with various ministries at Mass. I entered the seminary and was later ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Kampala on July 3, 1988. My early years of priestly ministry were in educational settings: I attended Lancaster University [England] earning Master’s degrees in Physics with Education and in Information Technology and Management. In October 2012, I was named Chaplain to His Holiness by Pope Benedict XVI with the title, Monsignor.
I have served the Diocese of Raleigh for several years in roles such as parochial vicar at Saint Mary Mother of the Church, Garner, and Saint Mary’s Church, Goldsboro; Sacramental Minister at UNCW; priestly assistance at Saint Therese Church, Wrightsville Beach; and Administrator and Catholic Campus Minister at NC State University.
I have been blessed to be a part of some of the most important moments in people’s lives including their baptisms, weddings and funerals. It is exciting for me to be a part of a parish like All Saints, a spiritual home that offers a wide variety of opportunities for people to grow in faith, to offer service within the life of the parish, and to serve the larger community that exists beyond the boundaries of the parish. I pledge to work with you and to encourage you to continue to put your time and talents to good service in enriching the life of our parish community. As the African proverb says: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
