Helping make the holidays brighter for 32 years

To apply for assistance: Go to your Eastern Pender County school guidance office, or Share the Table, or 4C's Christian Caring Community Center. Pick up and turn in your application at the same location.


THANKSGIVING: Recipients should apply by November 2 at school guidance office, 4C's, and Share the Table. By appointment on November 21 at Blakes Chapel at 1-4:30PM, recipients will receive a voucher to Harris Teeter for a precooked turkey dinner that feeds 8-10 people (turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry relish).

CHRISTMAS: Recipients should apply by November 30 at school guidance office, 4C's, and Share the Table. By appointment on December 12 at Blakes Chapel at 1-4:30PM, recipients will receive items for the family.

The Community Holiday Assistance Program (CHAP) of Eastern Pender County, North Carolina originated 32 years ago. CHAP-participating churches and charitable organizations join together to make the holidays brighter for people in need (1,364 people in 2018, 1,182 in 2017, and 782 in 2016). Thank you, Harris Teeter for arranging to help families in need this Thanksgiving.

Eastern Pender County schools; outreach, civic, and military organizations; businesses, and churches come together by way of the Community Holiday Assistance Program to provide food and toys to make the holidays brighter for people in need.  Your efforts certainly helped many, many people have a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas each year!  Thank you for all your food collection, sorting, gift card donations, referral sending and prayers for families in need in our area.  A special thank you to Share the Table for coordinating, Blakes Chapel for their hospitality, and to the Knights of Columbus for their special gift card collection.

Applicants pick up an application through their local school couselor, Share the Table, or 4Cs to enroll for assistance.  At Thanksgiving applicants receeve a precooked meal voucher and information about local aid organizations. At Christmas, families with children living at home will receive items that the whole family can enjoy together!
