What if... you could help someone who is struggling by not only meeting some material needs, but also to give them Jesus? This Christmas, we expect to help and celebrate with more than 659 adults and 705 children (1,364 people in 2018, 1,182 in 2017, and 782 in 2016)!

The Community Holiday Assistance Program (CHAP) of Eastern Pender County, North Carolina originated more than 30 years ago. CHAP-participating churches and charitable organizations join together to make the holidays brighter for people in need. Thank you, Walmart, Food Lion, and Lowes Foods for giving in 2017 & 2018.

Eastern Pender County schools; outreach, civic, and military organizations; businesses, and churches come together by way of the Community Holiday Assistance Program to provide food and toys to make the holidays brighter for people in need.  Your efforts certainly helped many, many people have a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas each year!  Thank you for all your food collection, sorting, gift card donations, referral sending and prayers for families in need in our area.  A special thank you to Blakes Chapel for their hospitality and assistance to the Knights of Columbus for their special gift card collection.

Applicants pick up an application through their local school couselor, Share the Table, or 4Cs to enroll for assistance.  At Thanksgiving applicants recieve a food box, gift card for perishable items, and information about local aid organizations.  Food and toys are donated by the local community. These items will stock the shelves our CHAP  “holiday shop.”

CHAP invites outreach recipients to select toys in the "holiday shop" for their children, come hear Christmas music, enjoy refreshments, and do a kids’ craft. And we hope they will encounter Jesus while they’re here.
